Vintage Bottom Heavy Chair

Vintage Bottom Heavy ChairVintage Bottom Heavy Chair 2

The upholstery on this chair is hideous but what I really like about it is how heavy the bottom is, almost like it’s sagging into the ground.  It looks extremely sturdy and masculine.  Give it character by going with a bright upholster, contrasting the brutishness with something light and whimsical.  It would be very surprising.

White Wrought Iron Chair

Now if I could only find the perfect wrought iron patio table to go with these wrought iron chairs.  The mesh pattern on the backs and seats of these chairs are beautifully translucent.  I would try out different cushions.  I don’t really like the the ones in the picture.

Rocker-Thonet Bentwood Style

Rocker-Thonet Bentwood Style

I think the frame of this thonet bentwood style rocker is actually metal.  I haven’t seen much of that.  The metal could use some cleaning and the upholstery needs to be redone but overall its a good value for something that could become great.

Pink Country French Arm Chair

Country French Arm ChairCountry French Arm Chair 2

Pink on pink it way to matchy-matchy, but I believe this pastel colored chair would look great in a cobalt or dark blue room, where it could stand out.  This is a pretty bold object, but that’s why its so appealing.

King & Queen Chair

King & Queen Chair

These chairs are the personifications of a King and Queen from Alice in Wonderland.  At least that’s what I imagine.  They have so much character.  The pink one with its stern hat is unamused but stately.  The blue/white one delicate and regal.  I’m not sure where they should be placed because they fit so well next to each other.  I wonder if putting them at the ends of a long table would also work.  Experiment!  These pieces have too much life to pass up.
